Chesley Creek Farm is situated on about 250 acres in the mountains of the Blue Ridge in Greene County, Virginia, about l8 miles NW of Charlottesville.
There are miles of hiking trails and old roads in the area, with impressive mountain and valley vistas, and close to Old Rag Mountain hiking area, as well as the Appalachian Trail.
There are presently 4 cottages/cabins on the property; Creek House, LaurelWood, Pines and Ridge. All are similarly furnished.
Each cottage has central air conditioning and gas heat. Living rooms and dining areas have oak hardwood floors, gas fireplaces, and are fully furnished. There is no TV or telephone, but there is a music system in each cottage. There are lots of books to read, and board games and cards to play. The cottages have queen sized beds.
Each cottage has a 2 person jacuzzi whirlpool tub in the bath, along with a shower. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen; everything is provided with the exception of food. There is a gas range, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and a grill outside on the deck. All dishes, utensils and items necessary for preparing meals are provided. There is a small grocery store nearby, but main meal items should be brought with you.
We are near Jefferson’s Monticello, Madison’s Montpelier, and Monroe’s Ash Lawn-Highland, as well as the University of Virginia, Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, and George Washington National Forest.
There are numerous wineries close by; Stone Mountain Vineyards, Moss Vineyards, Kilauren Winery, Glass House winery and Early Mountain Vineyards are all within about 30 minutes of the cabins. There is also a Brew Trail, and several cideries in the area.
All the cabins have an outdoor fire pit; firewood is provided for an evening around the fire. All have a hammock under the trees outside in which to relax and read a good book.
In season, there is a full sized, in ground salt water pool for use by our guests, and towels are provided at the pool.
